Spring is finally almost here. Before riding into the sunshine to see what’s new in the city, we’re giving you our finest spring cycling tips to enjoy the season safely.

1. TEST YOUR TIRE PRESSURE

Sudden temperature changes can also mean imperceptible shifts in your tires’ air pressure. Use the gauge on your pump to measure both tires and if the pressure appears low, get pumping to bring it back to your ideal PSI.

2. REVIEW EVERYTHING AND ADJUST

Go over your bike carefully to make sure your chain is intact and lubricated, your seat is secure and at your desired height, and that your brakes and spokes haven’t been compromised in any way. You want to find out that a part is not in working condition before you hit the road.

3. LET’S GET VISIBLE

Always make sure you’re wearing something highly noticeable when riding, such as hi-viz clothing with reflective fabric. Don't forget to check the batteries in your bike and helmet lights before heading out to guarantee they’re in peak condition to announce your presence to drivers.

4. EXAMINE YOUR HELMET

It is recommended that you replace your helmet every 3 years. Even if it’s not time to change your head’s emergency protection, look closely before you cycle to make sure it hasn’t been damaged by any compromising cracks, scrapes, or falls since your last ride.
